Souvenir 110

Our Balinese collaborator Wayan assembled a collection of over 20 kites, made from elementary drawings we supplied and from recycled plastic shopping bags that we collected in New York City. Our intention was to cut loose and break away from the traditional look of Balinese kites to create different color combinations and characters. There is something inherently beautiful about an aesthetically pleasing disposable object, and it’s even more exciting that they’re functional. It’s like a graphic poster that can fly.
